Requirements

Construction work under this contract may be either:

  • Design-bid-build or design-build for the replacement of underground utilities listed above.
  • Replacement includes the installation of new and may include the removal of existing after the new is proven operational. Task order 001, the Seed Project, is expected to be design-build for the phased replacement of a section of steam and condensate piping

Construction tasks ancillary to the replacement of utilities that may be required, include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Removal of existing manholes, handholes, pull-boxes, etc.
  • Installation of new accessways such as manholes, handholes, tunnel structures containing
  • multiple utilities, etc.
  • Trenchless technologies such as Horizontal Earth Boring, Pipe Jacking, or Utility Tunnelling
  • including sub-classifications of these methods.
  • Excavating, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Surveying
  • Earthwork and landscaping
  • Road and sidewalks
  • Permit applications and environmental compliance
  • Hazardous material abatement
  • Conformance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic
  • Properties (SOI Standards)
