TN Enviromental Remediation Requirements

Currently the EPA has identified three contaminant media zones (CMZs) to be treated based on the selected alternative in the EE/CA. CMZ-1 is the NAPL area, and the CMZ-2 is the Lagoon 3 area were past removal actions placed contaminated material and continues to be subject to flooding. Wetland Mitigation for CMZ-2 will be required. CMZ-3 denotes the area where a pump and treat system will be located to prevent upgradient contaminants (residual NAPL and contaminated groundwater) from flowing into the treated areas, if applicable.
